10 years encouraging the wine business
The World Bulk Wine Exhibition is putting the finishing touches to preparations in a key year which will bring together the whole sector in Amsterdam
In two weeks’ time, the biggest international fair devoted to the wine business will be launched. It is a not-to-be-missed event for professionals from the sector. They attend this fair from across the world (65 countries will be represented) and with the objective of developing some of the year’s largest commercial transactions.
More than 75% of the bulk wine that is exported at a global scale is transacted within this international fair and more than 6,000 visitors and 200 producers are aware of. They are all putting in the final touches before attending this event of vital importance for all of them.
The bulk wine sector generates 40% of the wine that is exported worldwide; a figure that amounts to a value of over 3,000 million euros. In addition, Amsterdam’s trade fair is the only place worldwide where it is possible to taste close to 80% of the global harvest of bulk wines in just two days.
At Amsterdam’s fair, all the wine companies, regardless of their size, big, medium or small, will find business opportunities tailored to their needs, from the largest operations to the smallest transactions of bulk wines of the highest quality for private labels, blending, etc.
This year, professionals attending WBWE will find bulk wines with more quality than ever, alongside the greatest global diversity regarding types of wine. Moreover, at the WBWE, you’ll find organic wines, still wines, sparkling wines, and wines with or without a designation of origin or a PGI, etc. Furthermore, wineries devoted to distilled beverages, spirits and liquors will also participate, thus broadening the business possibilities for attendees to the fair.
The WBWE is the first and largest fair in the entire world devoted to business of large wine volumes, yet it is also a forum for debate and dialogue where many of the tendencies which will set the sector’s future can be foreseen: exclusive talks, keynote lectures on the art of coupage, a contest to recognize scientific research, gourmet areas and products and, above all, one of the greatest achievements of the fair’s side activities: the International Bulk Wine Competition, the only one of its kind conceived for promoting this wine category and ensures a deeper understanding and transparency regarding the quality of large volumes of wine and wine in bulk.
