At THE VINE, Universities will enjoy an exclusive place to present their research and innovations in the field of vine, wine and its derivatives

 

The 6th World Bulk Wine Exhibition will be held on the coming 24th and 25th of November at Amsterdam’s RAI.

Inside this new area, THE VINE, the World Bulk Wine Exhibition aims to highlight research and innovations related to vine, wine, its derivatives and its waste.

Among all the posters accepted and exhibited during the World Bulk Wine Exhibition, a prize of 3.000€ and another of 1.500€ will be awarded to the best two works.

Attendance at the WBWE is not compulsory for those presenting research posters.

RULES FOR THE PRESENTATION OF RESEARCH WORKS

1. Topics:

Communications can cover any topic related to the vine sector.

They can be carried out either individually or in a team (limited to six authors). The research presented must have been carried out between January 2012 and October 2014.

2. Layout:

Layout must include a written abstract and a poster.

Language: English.

Written abstract:

  • Format: Word documents (or Word-compatible). Text layout: single spacing and double space between the paragraphs. Justification of the text. Font type: Times New Roman. Font size: 12.
  • Abstracts must be one page long.

Posters:

  • Posters must contain:

    • A Title (in bold type)
    • Authors’ names
    • Introduction
    • Materials and methods
    • Findings
    • Conclusion / Discussion
    • Bibliography

  • Posters should measure: 150 centimeters high by 80 centimeters wide.

3. Deadlines:

  • Written abstracts should be submitted by the 30th of October 2014 to the following email address:posters@worldbulkwine.com
  • The WBWE Scientific Committee will notify acceptance of proposals before the 9th of November 2014.
  • Posters of the selected research works should be sent to a postal address in Amsterdam. The deadline and the address will be provided once the proposal has been accepted.

4. Selection process:

The WBWE Scientific Committee will select proposals and will notify participants of acceptance or rejection.

5. Display:

Posters will be exhibited as from the first day of the event and during the entire World Bulk Wine ExhibitionTHE VINE event.

The exhibition of a poster does not imply that the universities or research centers have to be present at the WBWE.

6. Awards:

Among the posters accepted and exhibited during the World Bulk Wine Exhibition, the first two works will be awarded a prize.

The decision of the Jury –made up of members from the WBWE Scientific Committee– as well as the winners of the prizes will be disclosed on the last day of the Exhibition, on November 25th, during the Closing Ceremony.

The winner and the runner-up will receive 3.000€ and 1.500€ respectively.

Posters will be considered and evaluated according to following criteria:

  • Relevance and originality
  • Methodology and scientific quality
  • Conciseness and clarity
  • Visual aspect

Participants acknowledge being fully conversant with all the rules.

WORLD BULK WINE EXHIBITION 2014

The WBWE will hold its sixth edition on the coming 24th and 25th of November 2014 at the Halls 2&3 of the Amsterdam’s RAI, with an increase of 25% of the exhibition space (up to 6000m2). 175 wineries from 16 different countries participated in last year’s WBWE. In addition, purchasers and visitors from 71 different countries visited this fair, being the only one in the world where it is possible to have access to a volume of approximately 30 million hectoliters.

The 6th World Bulk Wine Exhibition will seek to increase this offer even more, as well as the number of producing companies and professional visitors. The 6th WBWE will pay particular attention to the new trends on the global market, the importance of new technologies and the growing quality of the international bulk wine offer.
